Sharing the Story

Disciples and the World

13"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men.
14"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;
15nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
16"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
17"Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.
18"For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
19"Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least (X)in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20"For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Sorry about missing everyone yesterday for the update on how things are going. It was such a busy day that it just didn't seem like the time to have one more gathering. Lets try this for the week. Share the story of how it's going on the blog. You can include in this particular blog and we will "catch up" with how God is moving in each of us.

God is so good! Enjoy Him today as you share the story! LGLO, Pastor Peter

P.S. This text was emailed to me by Bob Mack. He is sharing texts with a variety of people from his email list and it was a great reminder this morning. Especially after praying for the lost last night at the prayer meeting. It was great to focus towards those who don't know Christ!

  1. I had to call a parent the other day because her son dropped the f-bomb in my class. He's not a bad kid at all... very polite and kind and very smart. He just tends to cuss badly when he gets upset about something. Any ways, She had called me back after I left a message on her cell. I explained the problem in the message, and so when she called me back, she had already talked to him.

    It was a pleasant conversation, and she told me her husband and both her sons have this out burst problem. I could tell it was embarrassing for her. I reassured her, he kid was really not a problem, he just can't cuss in class!

    The whole point of this was before we hung up, she said "I am so glad you called. When (my son) and I were talking he said 'you know mom, Miss Gallick really cares about us.'" To have a student sincerely tell their parent that in the midst of getting in trouble, and then the parent relaying that back to me was such a boost to my day. I know I have to teach my language arts lessons, but to know that some of them realize I do care about them personally - that's what is really important to me. Since I really can't say the words "Jesus love you" in class; I pray my actions will say it for me.
